About skiing in Obertauern
Obertauern is a high Alpine resort built around a pass road, with lift entrances on both sides of the village. The Tauernrunde circuits let confident skiers explore the domain, but a circuit is not a beginner teaching area. Choose accommodation close to the lift or meeting point that fits your lessons and ability.
Ski areas and terrain
Grünwaldkopf and Zehnerkar
Major lift approaches near the western side of the pass village.
Gamsleiten
A distinct sector with steeper terrain alongside easier marked options.

Piste difficulty: Blue, red and black marked pistes serve different abilities. Start in designated learning terrain if new to skiing; the steeper Gamsleiten sector and full circuits require a suitable level and attention to lift closing times.
Planning your arrival: Choose the nearest pass-road stop, not just Obertauern as a broad destination.
