About skiing in Val Thorens
Val Thorens is the high-altitude end of Les 3 Vallées. The approximately 600 km total refers to the entire linked 3 Vallées, including Méribel and Courchevel, not only Val Thorens. A local pass and a full-area pass may cover different terrain; verify lift links and weather each day.
Ski areas and terrain
Val Thorens village lifts
Several lift bases around the high-altitude resort; choose the nearest to your accommodation.
Orelle connection
An access side in a neighbouring valley, dependent on lifts and the selected pass.
Belleville and 3 Vallées links
Connections toward Les Menuires and beyond; check return lift closing times.
Piste difficulty: There are marked slopes for different abilities near the resort, while Pointe de la Masse and other high sectors are more exposed. Beginners should choose a lesson meeting area close to their accommodation and avoid assuming every inter-resort link is suitable for a first day.
Planning your arrival: Confirm whether the bus stop at Place des Arolles is walkable with bags or if you need a local shuttle.
