ARRIVAL CHECKLISTBefore leaving Cluj-Napoca Avram Iancu International Airport
Cluj-Napoca Avram Iancu International Airport (CLJ) is in Someșeni, east of Cluj, and provides a gateway to the Apuseni Mountains. The airport lists public bus connections into the city; line 5 is useful for the main railway station. There is no railway platform at the passenger terminal. Băișoara, Buscat and Mărișel need a separate mountain road leg, while Păltiniș is a considerably longer journey toward Sibiu. Băișoara village, Muntele Băișorii resort and Buscat are different drop-off locations. Compare a dated city connection plus an arranged local ride with a direct airport transfer. A cheap flight does not guarantee a convenient onward ski bus.
- Apuseni roads climb beyond the city bus network. Confirm the precise mountain property, lift operation and winter equipment before setting out; reserve the final ride rather than assuming a village bus reaches the pistes.
- Confirm the terminal, hotel address and ski luggage before booking.
- Keep enough time between landing and a fixed onward departure.
