ARRIVAL CHECKLISTBefore leaving Inverness Airport
Inverness Airport (INV) is northeast of Inverness and offers a Highland starting point for Cairngorm Mountain and the more distant Glenshee Snowsports Centre. HIAL currently identifies Stagecoach buses 1 and 13 as terminal-to-city connections. Inverness Airport railway station is separate from the terminal, with an approximately 20-minute uncovered signed walk; it is not a terminal platform. Cairngorm Mountain is approached through Aviemore, then the ski-centre road. Glenshee is on the A93 at Cairnwell and has no ordinary public bus to the ski centre. Plan the specific winter base, open road and return transport before booking accommodation.
- Check the live ski report and road status on the day. Wind, visibility and snow can affect lift operation and exposed roads. An airport train to Inverness does not complete either ski-centre journey.
- Confirm the terminal, hotel address and ski luggage before booking.
- Keep enough time between landing and a fixed onward departure.
