ARRIVAL CHECKLISTBefore leaving Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport
Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW) is south of Ottawa in Ontario. Camp Fortune is north across the Ottawa River in Québec, while Tremblant and Mont Blanc are much longer Laurentian road trips. Crossing this provincial boundary is not an international border crossing. O-Train Line 4 links the airport with South Keys for onward city connections; it does not continue to the ski resorts. Airport taxis and rental cars can be useful, but a long-distance ski journey should be agreed in advance. Choose Tremblant’s pedestrian resort, a town property, Mont Blanc’s ski base or Camp Fortune’s lodge as a specific destination. The airport name alone does not determine an onward ski shuttle.
- Check Ontario 511 for the airport approach and Québec 511 for roads north of the river. A winter vehicle and time buffer are useful even for the shorter journey to Camp Fortune.
- Confirm the terminal, hotel address and ski luggage before booking.
- Keep enough time between landing and a fixed onward departure.
