ARRIVAL CHECKLISTBefore leaving Poprad-Tatry Airport
Poprad-Tatry Airport (TAT) is a small gateway close to the High Tatras, with a separate road connection to Poprad-Tatry railway and bus stations. The Tatra Electric Railway then serves Starý Smokovec, Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso. Jasná is farther west in the Low Tatras and uses Liptovský Mikuláš plus a Demänovská Valley bus or arranged local ride. SAD Poprad introduced airport bus 10 from 17 September 2026, linked to the Gdańsk and Prague air services. Check that it actually meets your arrival; other flights or delays may need a taxi to the station. The airport name and the railway station name are similar, but the terminal has no railway platform.
- Electric trains connect the High Tatra villages; they do not run straight to Jasná. Mountain hotels may still need an uphill local ride. Confirm winter bus and lift operating dates separately from your airport ticket.
- Confirm the terminal, hotel address and ski luggage before booking.
- Keep enough time between landing and a fixed onward departure.
