ARRIVAL CHECKLISTBefore leaving Stockholm Arlanda Airport
Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is north of Stockholm and offers rail and coach connections for ski journeys into central and northern Sweden. Arlanda Central in SkyCity serves commuter and long-distance trains, while Arlanda Express uses separate airport stations for Stockholm city. Åre has a village railway station; Sälen requires a further bus after a rail hub such as Mora. Romme Alpin is outside Borlänge and Kungsberget is outside Sandviken, so the town train does not complete either ski journey. Check whether the booked train boards at Arlanda Central or Stockholm Central and include any station access charge in the fare comparison.
- Sälen includes several distant ski bases, and Åre Björnen is separate from central Åre. Book the final connection to the accommodation and verify ski-day coach conditions before using one for a longer stay.
- Confirm the terminal, hotel address and ski luggage before booking.
- Keep enough time between landing and a fixed onward departure.
