About skiing in Alyeska Resort
Alyeska Resort is at Girdwood in Alaska’s Chugach Mountains, south of Anchorage along Turnagain Arm. The Hotel Alyeska and the day-ski base are different arrival references, and the road map here ends at the hotel. Its terrain ranges from lower learning slopes to steep upper-mountain and North Face choices. Tram operation, weather and available terrain should be checked for the actual day rather than inferred from the resort’s total acreage. Glacier Valley Transit helps move around Girdwood after arrival, but it is not an airport shuttle from Anchorage. Arrange the complete first road leg, provide the hotel or lesson address and leave room for winter delays along the Seward Highway.
Ski areas and terrain
Lower learning and day base
Confirm lessons and equipment collection rather than assuming they meet at the hotel.
Tram and hotel sector
A separate arrival reference with weather-dependent uplift and mountain services.
Upper mountain and North Face
More demanding terrain; follow lift, patrol and boundary information.
Piste difficulty: Lower progression areas and marked cruising routes coexist with demanding upper terrain. North Face and boundary choices require advanced skills and permitted access.
Planning your arrival: This map ends at Hotel Alyeska. Confirm a different drop-off for day-ski lessons or other Girdwood lodging.
