About skiing in Avoriaz
Avoriaz sits high in the Portes du Soleil and provides different local and wider-area lift passes. The large cross-border piste total describes many resorts, not pistes solely within Avoriaz. Select a pass suited to the days you actually intend to ski and verify cross-border links each morning.
Ski areas and terrain
Les Lindarets
A sheltered progression area with connections toward the wider Portes du Soleil network.
Arare and Le Fornet
Higher pistes and varied terrain; check lift status in wind or poor visibility.
Chavanette
Cross-border access toward Switzerland; confirm the lift link and return route before committing.
Piste difficulty: Beginners can use dedicated learning zones before progressing toward Les Lindarets. Stronger skiers can look at Arare and Chavanette, but the famous Swiss Wall is demanding and weather-dependent.
Planning your arrival: Your residence address in a vehicle-free resort still requires a plan for luggage between the reception point and the building.
