About skiing in Bormio

Bormio’s mountain climbs from town through Bormio 2000 to the upper Cima Bianca sector. Its long vertical and Stelvio race slope distinguish it from nearby Santa Caterina and Cima Piazzi–San Colombano. Those neighbouring areas need separate road access; a wider-area ski product does not mean every mountain is linked by ski lift.

MARKED PISTESAbout 50 km of pistes in Bormio’s own ski area
ALTITUDETown about 1,225 m; upper Cima Bianca terrain around 3,000 m

Ski areas and terrain

Bormio town lift base

Lower arrival point for the main mountain uplift.

Bormio 2000

Mid-mountain base with teaching and cruising terrain.

Cima Bianca and Stelvio

Upper mountain and long descents; choose a run suited to your ability.

Piste difficulty: Learning areas and easier marked runs coexist with substantial intermediate terrain and demanding descents. The Stelvio race route should not be treated as a beginner return. Check the map for an appropriate descent and allow time for the last uplift.

Planning your arrival: Bormio town, the Bormio 2000 plateau, Santa Caterina and Valdidentro are different destinations. Ask for the stop nearest the hotel and confirm a taxi if arriving after local services finish.
