About skiing in Bovec / Kanin
Bovec is a Soča Valley town associated with the high Kanin ski area. Important status checked 5 October 2026: the destination’s official information states that the Kanin cableway from Bovec is not operating until further notice. This guide therefore describes travel to Bovec town, not a confirmed lift-served ski holiday. Do not book on the assumption that historical Kanin runs or the international connection will operate this winter.

Valley accommodation and visitor services remain a separate destination from the closed mountain cableway.

Check the official status directly. A redevelopment proposal or old trail map is not confirmation of reopening.
Sella Nevea
The Italian ski area is a separate destination with its own access, road conditions and operating information; do not assume the cross-mountain link is available.
Piste difficulty: No current beginner, intermediate or advanced lift-served offer is confirmed from Bovec. Ask the destination for an operating alternative before paying for skiing.
Planning your arrival: The route ends at Bovec town. Kanin’s cableway is closed until further notice; a town transfer is not a ticket to functioning lifts. Ask the visitor centre for the current status and any genuinely operating alternative.
