About skiing in Cairngorm Mountain
Cairngorm Mountain is the lift-served ski destination above Aviemore, with road arrival at Coire Cas. The operator describes more than 30 km of terrain, but Scottish snow, wind and visibility can change the actual usable offering quickly. Check the live lift report and funicular information instead of relying on an old closure notice or a headline network figure. Aviemore accommodation and the mountain base require different transfer addresses and a separately planned last bus.
Ski areas and terrain
Coire Cas base
Road-accessible ski arrival, equipment and instruction meeting point.
Aviemore town
Rail and accommodation base with a separate Stagecoach 30 or reserved mountain ride.
Upper lift-served sectors
Check live wind and lift operation, marked terrain and funicular conditions before heading higher.
Piste difficulty: Learning areas and longer marked mountain runs need different instruction and conditions. Choose the currently operating beginner facility with the ski school; a high-mountain outing is a separate plan.
Planning your arrival: Use Coire Cas day-lodge/ski-base access for the mountain, or the Aviemore hotel address for accommodation. A town train arrival needs the separate mountain road leg.
