About skiing in Crans-Montana

Crans-Montana spreads across a plateau with several uplift bases, including Cry d’Er and Les Violettes, below the higher Plaine Morte terrain. The funicular from Sierre arrives at a different point from buses through Crans or Le Mèrignou. Choose the hotel district and nearest uplift before arranging the airport connection. A plateau arrival can still require a local shuttle.

Ski areas and terrain

Cry d’Er side

One major uplift and piste access from the plateau.

Les Violettes

Another ski-base approach with different local transport.

Plaine Morte / upper terrain

High-altitude sector subject to weather and operating access.

Piste difficulty: Learning areas and intermediate cruising are available alongside steeper marked terrain. Higher altitude does not guarantee that all lifts are open. Choose the lesson base and return plan carefully, and check access arrangements around major events before travelling.

Planning your arrival: Crans, Montana, Le Mèrignou and the funicular station have distinct stops. Match the final local bus or pickup to the lodging.
