About skiing in Geilo

Geilo has ski bases on both sides of a railway-served valley. Vestlia, Havsdalen and the town-side lifts offer different accommodation and lesson choices. The operator’s local ski bus connects the main areas during operation, but its schedule should be checked for daily skiing and arrival separately. A town hotel can suit rail visitors, while a slopeside stay needs a final station pickup.

Ski areas and terrain

Vestlia

A distinct ski and lodging base on one side of the valley.

Havsdalen and town side

Other uplift and service bases with separate access.

Between the valley sides

Use the current local ski-bus plan and the correct meeting stop.

Piste difficulty: There are learning areas, family cruising and more demanding marked runs alongside park facilities. Choose a teaching base close to lodging and plan road/ski-bus transfers between sides rather than assuming one continuous lift-linked circuit.

Planning your arrival: Geilo station, Vestlia, Havsdalen and outlying cabins have different access. Arrange a local taxi or hotel pickup if the chosen service does not reach the property.
