About skiing in Hoodoo
Hoodoo is a central Oregon ski area at Santiam Pass, west of Sisters and Bend. It is a compact alternative to Mt. Bachelor, with a rounded mountain, a lodge-centred arrival and a mix of groomed front-side runs and more demanding backside terrain. Night skiing and tubing are separate activity choices with their own operating dates and tickets. A booking in Bend does not place you beside Hoodoo, and the Mt. Bachelor bus should not be assumed to serve it. Check the mountain opening calendar before planning a short visit, then choose the right lesson or rental time. Winter travel still involves a pass road, so allow for chain controls and a slower return when visibility deteriorates.
Ski areas and terrain
Front side and lodge
Concentrated services and groomed slopes near the main arrival.
Backside
More demanding snow and terrain; use the current map and boundary guidance.
Learning and tubing areas
Different tickets and session arrangements may apply; confirm before arrival.
Piste difficulty: Front-side groomers and learning areas are useful for progression; backside powder terrain is more demanding. Tubing is a separate activity.
Planning your arrival: Arrange arrival at the Hoodoo lodge and ski-area parking, not simply at Sisters or Santiam Pass.
