About skiing in Kranjska Gora
Kranjska Gora has village-side slopes and further terrain toward Podkoren, with different lodging and lesson bases. Planica is a separate Nordic-sport destination rather than another name for the main downhill snow front. The resort can simplify a family stay when accommodation is near lessons, rentals and the chosen lift. Check the specific piste and daily local journey before selecting a hotel.
Ski areas and terrain
Kranjska Gora snow front
Village-side lessons and rental facilities.
Podkoren
Separate base with more demanding marked terrain.
Planica / Nordic scope
Another activity destination requiring its own transport plan.
Piste difficulty: Easier village slopes suit learning, while more demanding terrain toward Podkoren needs appropriate experience. Check the map and open links; a race-associated sector should not be selected solely by its reputation.
Planning your arrival: Choose Kranjska Gora centre, Podkoren or another Upper Sava Valley property. Jesenice is the rail hub, not the final resort arrival.
