About skiing in La Pierre Saint-Martin

La Pierre Saint-Martin is a high mountain base above the Barétous Valley, near the Spanish border. The village and pistes sit above Oloron-Sainte-Marie and Arette; an arrival in either valley town leaves a substantial climb. Alpine skiing and nearby Nordic options are different activities and tickets.

Ski areas and terrain

Village and learning area

A practical base for rentals and initial lessons.

Higher alpine sectors

More varied terrain beyond the lower learning lifts.

Nordic surroundings

Separate trail choices; check grooming and the exact access point.

Piste difficulty: Choose the lower learning terrain for first lessons, then use the current map for blue and red progression. Higher exposed terrain and poor visibility need more conservative route choices.

Planning your arrival: Arette and Oloron are valley stops, not the high resort. Send the La Pierre Saint-Martin apartment address and unloading instructions.
