About skiing in Luosto

Luosto combines a compact alpine area with Nordic trails and a quiet Lapland village. The modern slope guide includes learning, main, competition and connecting routes, so an older seven-slope summary should not replace the current map.

Ski areas and terrain

Family area

Gentler lesson terrain and small-lift access.

Main Slope

Longer downhill option with a bypass around a steeper section.

Sunny side

Varied terrain for stronger skiers; check the connecting traverse.

Piste difficulty: Family Slope is the learning reference. Main Slope offers an alternative around its steeper section; Sunny and Competition terrain require more confidence. Off-piste areas are separate from groomed routes.

Planning your arrival: Choose Luosto village or the precise cabin address, not a generic Pyhä–Luosto national-park marker. Plan a warm final arrival and the next day’s lift access.
