About skiing in Monarch Mountain
Monarch is on US 50 near Monarch Pass, west of Salida. Its published figures now include No Name Basin; older summaries can understate the mountain. The winter ski lodge is not the separate summer At the Crest attraction. Reserve lessons and equipment at the ski-area base, and check which expanded sectors are open. Choose lodging and rental collection around your planned first-day terrain. Review the official trail map and open lifts before setting a meeting point; published totals describe the resort inventory rather than guaranteed daily availability.

No Name Basin
Expanded lift-served sector; use the current trail map.
Mirkwood
Hike-to advanced terrain, separate from the ordinary lift inventory.
Piste difficulty: The official mix includes beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert trails. Hike-to Mirkwood and guided cat terrain are distinct products.
Planning your arrival: This route map ends at Monarch Mountain ski-area base. Give the actual lodging, rental or lesson meeting address; a valley-town stop may require a separate local ride.
