About skiing in Oppdal

Oppdal spreads its skiing across Vangslia, Stølen, Hovden and Ådalen. A town-centre room is convenient for rail arrival, while a sector-side property changes the daily journey to lessons and lifts. Decide on the main ski base before arranging the station pickup. The visitor guide’s run and lift counts describe the ski centre rather than the number guaranteed to be open each day.

Ski areas and terrain

Vangslia

A main base for resort skiing and family facilities. Confirm rentals and lesson departure here.

Stølen

A separate access north of the town. Accommodation here needs a different station drop-off.

Hovden and Ådalen

Other sectors of the four-mountain ski centre. Check lift operation and the planned return route.

Piste difficulty: Beginner and intermediate opportunities coexist with more demanding mountain skiing. Choose the appropriate sector and marked runs for the group; exposed terrain and off-piste travel need separate assessment.

Planning your arrival: Confirm which of the four ski sectors is closest to the accommodation. An Oppdal station ticket leaves the final local journey unfinished.
