About skiing in St. Anton am Arlberg
St. Anton is a gateway into the wider linked Ski Arlberg area. The 300 km of marked pistes and 85 lifts are for the whole Ski Arlberg network, which extends beyond St. Anton to St. Christoph, Stuben, Lech, Zürs and other villages. The nearby Rendl and Galzig sides suit different types of ski day.
Ski areas and terrain
Galzig, Gampen and Valluga
The principal St. Anton side with access to longer descents and links towards St. Christoph and Stuben.
Rendl
A separate lift departure across the village; check the official piste map for runs and snowpark access.
Wider Ski Arlberg
The connected network continues toward Lech, Zürs, Warth and Schröcken with the appropriate pass and operating lifts.
Piste difficulty: There are pistes for several ability levels, but St. Anton is especially known for demanding terrain and freeride. Beginners can look for dedicated learning slopes and instruction before taking long inter-village routes. The official 200 km open-terrain figure describes off-piste terrain, not groomed beginner runs.
Planning your arrival: When choosing accommodation, check whether you are closest to the Galzigbahn or the Rendlbahn; a central station arrival does not put you at either lift with ski bags.
