About skiing in Voss

Voss Resort combines town access by gondola with another road entrance around Bavallen. Its visitor-facing ski page describes around 40 km of pistes, although another trade page quotes a different total. Use the live piste map for the current open terrain rather than treating either headline as a daily availability promise. Town hotels can make a railway-based stay convenient.

Ski areas and terrain

Gondola and Hangurstoppen

A convenient daytime access from beside Voss station; check gondola hours for the actual ski day.

Bavallen

A separate road-access base useful for nearby cabins. Confirm the bus or taxi destination.

Children’s areas and Nordic tracks

Family learning zones and prepared Nordic tracks serve different activities. Check the meeting point and pass.

Piste difficulty: There are beginner areas, mixed intermediate pistes and more demanding runs. Choose the lesson base and marked grade before boarding a lift; off-piste terrain is a separate activity.

Planning your arrival: Voss station suits town hotels and the gondola, but Bavallen cabins need another road connection. Do not rely on the gondola to reach accommodation after it closes.
