About skiing in White Pass
White Pass is an alpine ski area on US 12, separate from the historic White Pass railway in Alaska. Lodging in Packwood or Yakima leaves an additional drive to the lifts. A main base arrival is useful for lessons; a Nordic visit needs its own meeting point. Plan the final mountain road and return before arriving without a car.
Ski areas and terrain
Base learning area
First turns and lesson facilities close to the arrival lodge.
Front side
Established lift routes and more demanding pitches.
Paradise Basin
An additional mountain sector; confirm lift operation and the return route.
Piste difficulty: Learning runs by the base, intermediate groomers and steeper marked terrain higher up.
Planning your arrival: Book the White Pass ski lodge or your property. A Packwood drop-off is not a lift-base arrival.
