About skiing in Zakopane

Zakopane is a Tatra town with several distinct ski areas, restaurants and a busy winter visitor scene. Kasprowy Wierch, Nosal, Harenda and Polana Szymoszkowa should not be treated as one continuous lift system. A hotel near Krupówki may need a separate daily ride to the chosen lift. Match lessons and equipment collection to the actual sector and check the mountain operating notice before choosing a Kasprowy day.

MARKED PISTESSeparate ski centres; Kasprowy Wierch’s listed terrain is not the piste total for all Zakopane
ALTITUDETown skiing starts much lower than the Kasprowy Wierch mountain sector, near 2,000 m

Ski areas and terrain

Kasprowy Wierch / Kuźnice

The cableway starts at Kuźnice, separate from the main station. Check mountain weather, access arrangements and operating dates.

Nosal / Polana Szymoszkowa

Independent ski centres with their own lessons and lift access; choose the correct meeting point.

Harenda

Another separate sector; do not assume a town ticket or transfer ends at its lift base.

Piste difficulty: Nosal is a common learner choice; Kasprowy is more exposed and its natural-snow mountain pistes suit experienced skiers. Check the individual area’s colour grading.

Planning your arrival: Choose the hotel and ski sector: town centre, Kuźnice / Kasprowy, Nosal, Harenda and Polana Szymoszkowa are different destinations. Arrange a local bus or taxi from the station; check any vehicle restrictions toward Kuźnice.
