About skiing in Mammoth Mountain
Mammoth Mountain is above Mammoth Lakes in California’s Eastern Sierra. Main Lodge, Canyon Lodge and Eagle Lodge are distinct entrances, while village accommodation can require a shuttle or gondola connection to reach a ski base. This guide maps the road arrival at Main Lodge; a booking for another lodge needs a different destination. The network includes learning terrain, groomed cruising, parks and exposed upper slopes. Wind can affect summit lifts and access, so a broad trail map is not a guarantee that every sector will operate. Bishop and Reno are different airport gateways with very different travel distances. Once in Mammoth Lakes, local transport can reduce the need for daily driving if the stop and lodging location fit the seasonal timetable.
Ski areas and terrain
Main Lodge
Mapped arrival reference; verify lesson and rental collection locations.
Canyon and village connection
Separate lodge and access arrangements; a village drop-off is not always the slope entrance.
Eagle and upper mountain
Different base and weather-sensitive upper access; plan the return route to lodging.
Piste difficulty: Base-area learning routes differ from steep upper terrain and freestyle features. Choose the lodge and sector that match your lessons and ability.
Planning your arrival: This map ends at Main Lodge. Airport Flyer and regional bus stops in Mammoth Lakes need a local shuttle or taxi to your selected lodge.
