About skiing in Sälen
Sälen is a destination region containing distinct resorts and accommodation bases. SkiStar’s Lindvallen/Högfjället and Tandådalen/Hundfjället groupings should not be confused with every other ski area in the wider Sälen mountains. Choose the pass, lesson base and village together. That choice determines the airport-shuttle stop and whether a local ski bus is useful during the stay.
Ski areas and terrain
Lindvallen and Högfjället
Separate base stops within one part of the destination. Confirm accommodation and lesson access.
Tandådalen and Hundfjället
Western bases close to SCR, with their own transfer stops and local layout.
Other Sälen ski areas
Stöten and Kläppen are separate choices. Check the pass and transport before booking them.
Piste difficulty: Many family learning options sit close to the bases, while other marked slopes provide more challenging skiing. Compare the current piste map for the exact area rather than assuming a uniform difficulty mix across Sälen.
Planning your arrival: Identify Lindvallen, Högfjället, Tandådalen or Hundfjället on the booking. A stop in Sälen village can be a long way from the accommodation and lifts.
